Tips for Cleaning and Maintaining Your Nose Jewellery

It is important to take care of your nose jewellery and keep it as clean as possible. There are different ways to clean and maintain your body jewellery depending on whether you have a fresh or already healed wound. If you’ve just got your nose pierced or any other part of your body, it must be regularly cleaned to keep it healthy and free from infection.

Healing Process

It is essential to keep your jewellery clean when your wound is still healing. If you don’t clean your body jewellery on a regular basis, something could get into the wound and cause an infection in your nose. While your piercing is still healing, there are a few important things you must consider.

  • Clean Hands – Before you take out or put in any kind of body jewellery, you must clean your hands to eliminate germs or any other substances that can cause infection. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds when removing or fitting your nose jewellery.
  • Leave it in Place – If you’ve only got your nose pierced and you’ve bought a new piece of jewellery, don’t replace the stud until it has fully healed. The tissue needs to fully heal before you remove the stud.
  • Cleaning the Jewellery – Rinse your nose jewellery with a homemade saline solution to ensure the area is kept clean. Don’t play around with the jewellery while it is in the healing process. If it is fully healed, remove the nose ring or stud, and let it soak in lukewarm, soapy water. Then dry it well with a clean towel.

Maintenance

When it comes to maintaining your body jewellery, purchasing good quality products is a factor. High-quality material will last longer than cheap products, they’ll also hold on to their visual appeal. When you invest in good quality jewellery, it is easier to maintain. High-quality metals like stainless steel, gold and titanium won’t irritate your nose or cause problems. If your nose jewellery was to bend or chip, it could damage the surrounding tissue. This won’t happen with good quality products.

You must take good care of your body jewellery to ensure it stays clean and sterile. You will be wearing it on your body, so to avoid infections, make sure you create a daily routine and stick to it. Opt for good quality products and be careful not to remove nose jewellery that hasn’t yet healed.
